SKEW4 workshop<\/h1>\n<\/header>\n

4th annual Sketch Engine workshop was timed to coincide with the conference. SKEW events are an opportunity for advanced users of the Sketch Engine and others interested in corpus NLP and corpus lexicography to keep abreast of new functionality, compare notes on how the tool can be used to greatest effect, and to discuss problems and possibilities with the development team.<\/p>\n

\n

The Sketch Engine is a leading corpus query system in use for lexicography and\u00a0linguistic\u00a0research at\u00a0dictionary\u00a0publishers including Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Collins, Macmillan, Le Robert and Cornelsen, national language institutes in eight countries, and over one hundred universities world wide. \u00a0It\u2019s distinctive feature is the \u2018word\u00a0sketch\u2019, on one page\u00a0summary\u00a0of a word\u2019s grammatical and collocational behaviour. \u00a0The Sketch\u00a0Engine\u00a0web service includes very large, ready-to-use corpora for over sixty languages, including all the world\u2019s major languages,\u00a0and\u00a0facilities for uploading your own corpora and for building corpora from the web.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The<\/strong>\u00a0workshop took place at the Institute of the Estonian Language.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>
